Environment Director

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead 桃色视频鈥檚 Environment Department, developing an ambitious strategy and managing the departmental team in its core goal to support EU environment policy allows businesses to be competitive and sustainable.
  • Go beyond advocacy to work on concrete actions 桃色视频 can take to help food and drink businesses meet EU environmental goals.聽
  • Join the 桃色视频 leadership team, with fellow directors, to shape the overarching industry approach to deliver sustainable and resilient food systems.
  • Work closely with other 桃色视频 departments to ensure alignment on cross-cutting topics.
  • Prepare鈥痑nd lead the 桃色视频 Environment and Sustainability Committee and relevant working groups.
  • Ensure the department delivers regular updates, briefings, and publications for 桃色视频 members and other target audiences.
  • Engage, collaborate and build positive relationships with the EU institutions and other key stakeholders.
  • Represent鈥疑悠 at events and official meetings.
  • Support鈥痶he Director General in achieving the goals of the organisation.

Qualifications

  • University degree related to the environment, climate change and sustainable food systems and/or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of work experience in EU or member state public affairs related to the environment, climate change and sustainable industry. 聽聽
  • Ideally the candidate will also have experience and knowledge around the development and implementation of corporate sustainability reporting requirements.

Skills and competencies

  • Excellent writing, communication, networking and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to align different interests and influence the political process.
  • Affinity with the food and drink sector.
  • Fluent English, other EU languages an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • An EU work permit is required. 聽聽

Food Safety Manager 聽

桃色视频 is seeking an experienced manager to join its Food Safety team in Brussels. This strategic role involves leading technical EU regulatory dossiers and shaping future food safety regulations. The successful candidate will engage in high-level policy discussions and coordinate complex scientific and technical files on food safety while enabling competitiveness and innovation across Europe鈥檚 food and drink industry.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead聽regulatory files related to聽risk聽management聽of聽chemical substances in food, such as contaminants,聽food聽improvement agents,聽as well as聽novel foods聽and聽allergens
  • Set strategic direction and coordinate 桃色视频 positions聽and聽feedback聽for the development of聽food safety regulation聽together with EU institutions and stakeholders
  • Represent the industry at high-level external meetings, including with the European Commission, EFSA, and international stakeholders
  • Organise and lead internal working groups, including the drafting of聽position papers,聽activity reports, deliverables, and other project documents
  • Monitor and analyse EU policy developments and prepare high-level briefings
  • Communicate internally and externally, ensuring聽桃色视频鈥檚聽voice is heard in relevant policy and scientific discussions聽

Qualifications

  • A scientific background with a strong focus in food聽science,聽chemistry, toxicology,聽or聽food聽technology.聽
  • At least聽4聽years of聽relevant聽experience in聽any of the following聽areas:聽Food safety regulation,聽toxicology, chemistry,聽food processing,聽or聽risk analysis in聽the areas of聽food safety聽and聽regulatory compliance
  • Work聽experience聽in聽EU regulatory affairs, trade associations,聽and聽cross-sector stakeholder engagement聽is聽highly聽desired
  • Experience in managing,聽advising,聽and communicating聽complex聽topics to聽various聽audiences
  • Fluent in English (other EU languages are an asset)
  • Ability to multi-task, well-organised and detail-oriented鈥
  • Hold an EU work permit聽
