Nomad Foods launched their Findus Frozen Takeaway meals range across Sweden, Finland and Norway demonstrating their purpose in action, bringing nutritious and tasty meals to consumers in a highly convenient format.
Approach
This new line of meals was designed to meet the increasing consumer demand for convenient, healthy options that fit into busy lifestyles, while also reflecting the growing interest in world cuisines. A key aim was to shift consumer perceptions of frozen ready meals, often viewed as less healthy, and to demonstrate how frozen meals can provide goodness without compromising on taste. The range also aimed to attract younger, more health-focused consumers who may not have the frozen aisle at top of mind when looking for a healthy meal solution.
The initial range was first launched in 2024 and includes options inspired by global flavours such as Teriyaki Chicken Noodles with Veggies, Chicken Linguine with Zucchini & Parmesan Sauce, and Roasted Chicken with Corn & Jalapeno Sauce. Later in 2025, the range expanded to include two new vegetarian options: Pearl Couscous with Paneer in a Mango Curry Sauce, and Tortellini with Ricotta & Spinach in a Creamy Lemon Sauce.
Method
Expert product developers and chefs collaborated to craft recipes that combine global flavours with a balance of vegetables, carbohydrate and protein. As a result, all meals provide between 18-28g protein and 105-143g vegetables per portion, helping to support consumers to easily and deliciously increase their vegetable intakes. All meals are single-portion and microwave-ready in as little as 6 minutes, making them ideal for lunch at work or a quick dinner at home.
Impact
This successful Frozen Takeaway range has helped to modernise frozen meal offerings and highlights how eating well can be made more accessible and appealing when nutrition, taste, dietary preferences and convenience are all carefully considered in combination.
