As part of their global , Kellanova is committed to nourishing 1.5 billion people by the end of 2030. They do this by creating accessible and affordable foods that deliver nutrients of need such as fibre, protein, and essential micronutrients, while reducing nutrients of concern including sugar, salt, and saturated fat.
Transforming Cereal
Since 2011, Kellanova has removed over 57,000 tonnes of sugar from their breakfast cereals and snacks across Europe. This progress was achieved through 26 sugar reduction projects, many of which involved multiple recipes and food formats.
There has been significant reformulation progress across their children’s cereals range, which includes Rice Krispies, Miel Pops, and Coco Pops, achieving a 122% increase in fibre while decreasing sugar by 33% and salt by 42% since 2011.
A great example is the reformulation of Coco Pops in 2018, where the sugar content has been halved, resulting in a recipe with 30% less sugar than comparable chocolate-flavoured toasted rice cereals at the time. In 2023, they have further improved four recipes across the Coco Pops and Miel Pops range, increasing fibre by an average of 35% and reducing sugar by 19%.
Smart Snacking
Their reformulation efforts extend to the Pringles range. Since 2019, there has been salt reduction in Kellanova’s top six Pringles flavours by 21%, reduced saturated fat by 10% and increased fibre by 27%.
New sublines were also introduced such as Pringles HOT, which deliver significant nutrition improvements compared to previous flavour sublines with 47% less salt and 52% less saturated fat.
Innovating for Better Nutrition
Beyond reformulation, Kellanova continues to innovate with high fibre recipes, fortified with important vitamins and minerals. 2025 launches included Kellogg’s Oaties, Kellogg’s High Protein Bites and Kellogg’s Bluey Multigrain cereal, all high in fibre.
